MEET
PIXIE POP TAROT
Hi! I'm Jillian
I created this deck for a couple of reasons. As a tarot creator and artist, I deeply appreciate the effort that went into creating the original Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. I also recognize the marginalization of Pamela Colman Smith, a female artist who was not given the credit she deserved for her extensive and laborious work on such a significant project.
Using the RWS system as the basis for my tarot cards, I wanted to honour Pamela Colman Smith, nicknamed "Pixie", who was never represented the way she needed to be. Additionally, I have never fully connected with the images of the original deck, as I felt they did not represent world we live in. This disconnect inspired me to create a deck that pays homage to Pamela Colman Smith's contributions but also embraces a more inclusive and diverse representation that resonates with the modern day mystic.
